Steel Ramp Installation & Industrial Zone Protection in New Orleans
Cars were scraping the entry ramps and navigating sinking, hazardous sidewalks at SUNO — a serious traffic hazard and liability risk. StripePro engineered a custom heavy-duty steel and reinforced concrete fix at both campus entrances.
- Custom 60-foot heavy-duty steel ramp system fabricated and installed
- Two campus entrances fully rebuilt
- Reinforced concrete foundations poured for long-term load support
- High-visibility safety caution poles set for driver guidance
- Complete traffic hazard mitigation and industrial zone protection
Both entrances are now safe and fully drivable, eliminating vehicle damage and the university's liability exposure.
What Bollards Protect
One storefront strike costs more than protecting the whole frontage. Bollards are the cheapest insurance on a commercial building.
Storefronts & Glass
Concrete-filled steel pipe bollards stop vehicles before they reach glass, doors, and interior occupants.
Utility & Equipment
Protection for meters, transformers, HVAC units, generators, and gas lines from backing vehicles.
Pedestrian Zones
Separation between walkways, seating, and entries and the drive lanes that run alongside them.
Loading Docks
Dock corners, door frames, and racking guarded against repeated truck and forklift impact.
Drive-Through Lanes
Menu boards, canopies, and clearance bars shielded from the most frequent low-speed strike zones.
Parking Garages
Column, stairwell, and elevator lobby protection in tight garages where clearances are unforgiving.
Installation Process
Site & Risk Review
We identify the actual strike paths — backing zones, entry aisles, and corners that get hit repeatedly.
Spec & Spacing
Pipe diameter, embedment depth, and spacing selected so vehicles cannot pass between posts.
Utility Locate & Core
Underground utilities located, then footings core-drilled or excavated to the required depth.
Set & Fill
Posts set plumb in concrete footings and filled with concrete for impact resistance, not just appearance.
Finish & Mark
Painted or sleeved for visibility, with adjacent pavement markings restored around the new installation.
Bollard Installation FAQs
What type of bollards do you install?
Concrete-filled steel pipe bollards are the standard for commercial impact protection. We also install removable, sleeved, and decorative options where appearance or access matters.
How deep do bollards need to be set?
Embedment depth depends on pipe diameter and the impact level you need to stop. Shallow-set bollards shear off on the first strike, so we spec footings for the real risk.
How far apart should bollards be spaced?
Close enough that a vehicle cannot pass between them while still allowing pedestrian and cart access. We lay out spacing for your specific frontage.
Can you install bollards on existing concrete or asphalt?
Yes. We core-drill or saw-cut, set the footing, and restore the surrounding surface and markings when the work is complete.
Do you also install guardrails and wheel stops?
Yes. Guardrails, wheel stops, speed bumps, and other protective steel are part of our infrastructure work alongside bollards.
